Despite being a generally hateful machine, the Odyssey does excel at cargo — in this case a 96”-long couch in the back with the gate closed. 30 minutes from home, so even a truck rental would be a PITA round-trip.

That’s pretty impressive. I’m trying to figure out how to hold on to my 03 Oddy for a few more years.

That’s wild haha. I had to rent a home Depot truck when I bought a bunch of furniture secondhand for my first apartment. It was a major steal for some quality stuff so it was worth the hassle. But man it would have been nice to fit the couch like this instead! Considering I had a Miata and my roommate had an FRS, we weren't transporting shit. I guess I could have fit it on the Miata but it would have been sketch.

Ditto our Sedona. When we made the trip up to the grandparents, my daughter wanted to bring her bike. No problem.

Except our Sedona isn’t otherwise hateful.

In unrelated news, ever since we got my sister her manual RSX, she has foisted the Odyssey off on her husband. He’s waiting for his truck A/C to be fixed so he can foist it off on...the driveway I guess.

I have to buy flat pack couches because that wouldn’t fit up my stairs any better than it would fit in my car.

Also...the best Honda Odyssey:

My mom’s got a 2011 EX that we’ve had for about 4 years and 60k miles, got it CPO, and it’s amazing how much you can fit in it .   We got a full size mattress and box spring in it with the second row still in the car, rearranged, of course, as evidenced by the middle seat in the way back . I definitely agree that there are pretty major areas where this car could be improved , but it’s really hard to argue with its practically.
